The Technical Business Headquarters was established under Maruzen Chemicals' latest mid-range business plan, MRP2020, with the aim of making more effective use of the company's resources and strengthening teamwork between the company's various divisions. There are three departments: the Technology Development Department and the Business Planning Department the Quality Control Department. Technology Development Department Charged with creating new business operations in leading-edge, promising and growth areas, the Technology Development Department analyzes information, studies technology and market trends and conducts other in-depth research into areas that our existing divisions have yet to explore and other areas suggested by feedback from customers in Japan and around the world. That information is then shared in the hope of fostering new business opportunities. Business Planning Department The Business Planning Department works in close cooperation with our other divisions on business planning, identification of areas for joint operations and partnerships, providing support for initiatives and helping to promote and strengthen our everexpanding international trade. The department's staff busy themselves coordinating with other divisions to promote worldwide cooperation, and offering technical and business advice and logistical support to promote the development of new business operations. The department also helps with international trade through painstaking, country-specific industrial research and strengthening partnerships with local businesses in the countries we operate in so as to magnify the potential for turning the department's support projects into genuine business opportunities. Quality Control Department As globalization leads to a dramatic expansion of international trade, the Quality Control Department seeks to maintain the safety of our products through uncompromising quality control. This includes drawing up and enforcing standards and ensuring compliance with the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act and other relevant laws and regulations. Inquiries to the Technology Development Office
